The ogun FSARS boss, SP Adams Uba has been selected for TMnews Most Focused Police Officer of the Year at the 6th edition of TMnews Conferment of Honour and Awards 2018.
Uba is popularly known as baby lion to the lion of gateway CP Ahmed Iliyasu psc+ Ogun state commissioner of Police.

Everyone knows that, a child born will take a process to crawl but Uba did not crawl but walked due to his stewardship and hardwork which brought a new lease of life to residents of ogun by virtue of bringing criminals on their knees, no wonder he had just been promoted from the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to Supritendent of Police(SP).

For Adam's Uba, whose physical look in terms of stature and age, ordinarily connotes a vulnerable being, his prodigy in policing, coupled with his intelligence and hardwork prides him amongst very few promising and personable youths this present generation should look up to, to bring sanity into the society.

A Prince of Shiroro in Niger State, Adams score sheet as a crime buster par excellence cannot be less described as superfluous.

His assumption in office as Officer-in-Charge of the Federal Special Anti Robbery Squad (FSARS), Abeokuta in Ogun State in July, 2016, has significantly given the state a new lease of life as criminal elements have had to turn a new leaf or taken their incorrigible negative lifestyles out of the state, for fear of falling into the operatives' dragnets that are spread across the nooks and crannies of the Gateway State.

Adams, it is Instructive to say, cannot be all alone in this feat of clamping down on miscreants, who have, in the past, held the state on the jugular. His highly trained officers and men remain equally committed and work to his instructions as a seasoned professional police man, a sterling quality that has continually soared his pedigree.

No wonder why the state chapter of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Civil Rights groups, students bodies and well-meaning residents of the state filed out on a solidarity walk to the FSARS Magbon office on Friday, December 8, 2017,protesting the call for scrapping of SARS.

Speaking on the occasion of the solidarity walk, the state PCRC Chairman, Asiwaju Ibraheem Olaniyan, unequivocally said, "the good people of the state were comfortable with the Adams Uba-led FSARS, adding that the outfit had a tremendous effect on the socio-political and economic life of the people".

According to him, social vices like robbery, cultism, kidnapping and so forth had risen to an alarming proportion but had to be curtailed by the squad.

"What I am saying, in other words, is that the vices have been drastically reduced, even as those bad boys can see the dangerous signal that they can no longer hibernate in the state" Olaniyan said.

The PCRC chairman Alhaji Olaniyan added that, "this inglorious call for scrapping of the squad was orchestrated by the bad boys and their sponsors, after sensing that the state is becoming too hot for them"

Reeling out the achievements of the squad, the Ogun PCRC chairman said, "within a short spate of time, precisely 17 months, the Adams Uba-led FSARS  has arrested no fewer than 200 notorious armed robbers, aside from kidnappers, cultists, pipeline vandals, rapists, fake military men, just to mention a few.

"He has also recovered more than 141 assorted arms, comprising AK 47 riffles, pump action guns, beretta pistols, locally-made guns, as well as over 461 ammunition. About 18 vehicles were also recovered during the period under review", the PCRC helmsman stated.

He graduate from Imo State University with B.sc Economics, Uba enlisted into the police force on August 15, 2002 as a Cadet Inspector, Course 36.

His first posting was to Adamawa Police Command in 2004.

In 2005, he was posted to Imo State Command, and served in the then Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), heading the Anti-Robbery Squad, code-named "Hawk Squad", where he was till 2008. In 2009, he was mobilized and posted to Squad 32, Abakaliki in Ebonyi State. Because of his experience in operations and administration, he was made the Administrative Officer (AO) of the squad.

He was transferred by an inter squadron to Mopol 48, Ahoada in Rivers State in 2011, where he led a unit of mobile men, controlling four local government council areas, comprising Imooha, Asaritolu, Degema and Abonima.

Adams Uba was one of the mobile men who brought peace and sanity to the local government areas during the heat of militancy.

Similarly, during a communal clash that rocked Omoku, Aggah and Ngbede in Ohaji-Egbema, between 2014 and 2015, he was deployed to the area, where his professionalism was brought to fore, and restored peace to the hitherto desolate communities.

SP Uba was later transferred to Federal Operations of the Force Headquarters, Abuja where he played a vital role in the cattle rustlers and herdsmen crisis that ravaged Niger State, as Officer-in-Charge of SARS.

Thereafter, he was sent on a special course on anti-terrorism and other violent crimes in Enugu, and deployed to Ogun State on July 12, 2016 where he added another feather to the rank of SP.

Ogun State has become a-no-go-area for criminals because no matter how small a lion cub is, no body dares it's den.
