IGP ADAMU, ILIYASU, OTHER OFFICERS GIVE LATE AIG ARMAMENT A BEFITTING BURIAL AMIDST TEARS, FUNFAIR
The Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone-2 Lagos, AIG Ahmed Iliyasu psc+ led senior officers in Lagos command to represent the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Adamu and organised a befitting burial parade in honour of the late AIG incharge of Police Armament Force Headquarters Abuja, AIG Omololu Bishi.
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, NPM, mni, as a practice, directed a beffiting burial for the late officer, who was briefly sick and died on admission at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, on Monday 11th January, 2021.
Late AIG Omololu Bishi's body was laid to rest today at Ebony Vaults, Ikoyi, Lagos amidst tears and police funfair.
According to the press release made available to TMnews by Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi stated that, AIG Iliyasu expressed shock on the sudden death of AIG Omololu Bishi, who was recently promoted to the rank of AIG. He, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, described the late AIG as humble, responsible and dedicated to duty. He also sympathised with the family, Oba of Lagos and chiefs and friends on his demise. He prayed that God will grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.
The brief burial rite was witnessed by his immediate family members, representatives of the Oba of Lagos, his course mates in Police Academy, friends and well wishers.
AIG Ahmed Iliyasu psc+ was accompanied to the burial arena by the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, AIG Police Cooperative, AIG Aminu Saleh Pai, CP Hakeem Odumosu, Area Commanders and Commanding Officers, Police Mobile Force in Lagos and senior officers from police formations within Lagos State.
The late AIG hailed from Lagos Island, enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 1988 as cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police. He was survived by his wife and kids.
