Residents of Ogun State have been urged to take the advantage of various
mortgage options provided by the Federal government to access quality and affordable housing units being constructed by the State Government.
The Commissioner for Housing, Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi, who gave the advice while featuring at a programme in Abeokuta, said most people do not tap into the mortgage options of being home owners, describing the mortgage options of the National Housing Fund (NHF) as one of the best and cheapest in sub-Sahara Africa, in terms of affordable rate and tenure.
He pointed out that the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria’s loan facilities was reasonable at six percent interest per annum, just as Governor Dapo Abiodun led administration was offering quality and affordable houses to the citizens.
The Commissioner stated further that the State government was not only providing affordable houses to the citizens to bridge the housing deficit in the State, but also committed to providing land schemes to citizens, who are willing to build to their taste, under the Site and Service Land Scheme at various locations within the State, on flexible payment plan.
While maintaining that the first Phase of Prince Court Estate, Kemta, Idi- Aba, Abeokuta has been completed, with state of the art infrastructural facilities, assuring that this laudable intervention in the housing sector will be replicated in other Senatorial Districts of the State.
