Dr Nasiru Sani Gwarzo, the leader of the Presidential Task Force Committee (PTF) on COVID-19 has finally revealed the cause of the deaths.
According to a report by Vanguard News, Dr Sani Gwarzo said the recent deaths from the tests carried out, showed that COVID-19 was the cause.
Nasir Gwarzo, who led a federal government medical intervention team to Kano, said the pandemic has passed its two initial stages of transmission in the city and gone into the “scary stage of community transmission”.
The mysterious deaths sent shockwaves across the state and the country at large.
As the world is busy fighting the dreaded COVID-19, Nigeria's northwestern state of Kano kept on witnessing mysterious deaths with over 150 people confirmed dead in 5days by local media.
For the past few days, a huge number of people have died in Kano state and the cause of their deaths remained unknown.
He said on Sunday, May 3rd, the coronavirus was the cause of the mysterious deaths recorded in Kano state recently.
President Muhammadu Buhari had during the week, gave an order to Presidential Task Force to unravel the cause of the deaths in Kano and also contain the spread of COVID-19 in the northwestern state.
