Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has been lauded for fulfilling his promise on provision of affordable homes for workers at Prince Court Estate, Abeokuta, as well as approval for reduction of interest to enable them access the houses through mortgage facilities, from 18 percent to six percent.
The Head of Service, Tpl Amope Chokor, gave the commendation while on supervision of the Estate being constructed by the State Government at Kemta, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, assuring that the project would be delivered to successful applicants by May 29, 2020, to mark the present administration’s one year anniversary in office.
"We want to thank our worker-friendly Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for this laudable project. He has approved that those of our officers who will be accessing mortgage facilities will enjoy a reduction from 18 percent to six percent. We have been assured that the houses will be delivered to successful officers by May 29. So, for workers who have applied, the project is real", she said.
Explaining the development of the housing project, the Acting General Manager, Ogun State Housing Corporation, Estate Surveyor and Valuer, Akinwale Ojo, said the Estate would consist 250 units of affordable houses for workers, saying ‘’the Corporation is presently working on 100 units, mixture of three- bedroom detached and two-bedroom semi- detached, which is about 65 to 70 percent completed and would be delivered as promised’’.
