In his remarks about the former Governor, the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba S.K. Adetona said “I knew him as a ‘small boy’. I didn’t know him from anywhere. He just walked into the palace and introduced himself to me. Since then I have kept him in s safe place in my heart and he still occupies that space. I have a lot of respect for him.

“As a governor he did creditably well and tried as much as possible to keep his head… A lot of people besieged him with a lot of information both solicited and unsolicited about the power inherent in the position of Governor. But he has learnt a lot and known the world better now.
I pray that Almighty God continues to strengthen him.”
