Southwest PCRC Condemns Killing of Funke Olakunrin

The National Vice Chairman in charge of Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC Southwest, Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan, has condemned the killing of Mrs Yinka Olakunrin the daughter of the leader of Yoruba Sociocultural Organisation, Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti by armed robbers on Friday on the Benin-Ore road in Ondo State.

Olaniyan made this press release through the Southwest public relations officer, comrade kunle shodipo adding that, s
teps must be taken beyond the usual cosmetic approach, against the continued activities of Devilish act on our Highways. The support for the Police is needed with better equipments to face this Bandits, who usually operates with sophisticated weapons.

He further urged Hoteliers, Operators of Joints, Beer Parlours, Traders, Property Owners, Farmers, Hunters and other relevant Stakeholders to desist from Keeping vital Informations adding that such intelligence is desperately needed, to help the Police in locating the Criminals from their Hideouts.

He however, calls on Southwest state Governor to understand the Importance of Community Policing through the PCRC whose members are widely spreads across all levels within various Communities. Local intelligence gathering and monitoring can best be done through the People and the necessary tonic needed is the Political Will.

We hope that necessary support and cooperation will be extended to the Commissioner of Police and his capable men in Ondo State Command in no distance time, bring the perpetrators of this dastardly act to face the wrath of the Law and by extension preventing a reoccurrence.
