Gov Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state said the governorship candidate of the Allied People's Movement (APM) in Ogun State, Hon. Adekunle Akinlade has his blessings to pursue his mandate under a new platform.

Amosun, who said he was not the type to hide under a finger, disclosed this on Monday at a meeting with his loyalists, held at the Presidential Lodge, Ibara Housing Estate, Abeokuta.

The governor reiterated his commitments towards ensuring Akinlade succeeds him in May 29, 2019; promising he would never work for Dapo Abiodun who he said stole Akinlade's mandate in the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He emphasised that God would never be happy with him if he supported Dapo Abiodun and other Ogun APC candidates contesting with 'stolen mandates'.

Speaking further, the Ogun number one man informed that he was contesting the Ogun Central Senatorial seat under the APC for the sake of President Muhammadu Buhari's reelection; appealing to his loyalists to vote for Buhari as the President and Akinlade as the governor of Ogun.

He charged the other faction of the state's APC not to see his support for Buhari as an endorsement of their 'illegal candidate.' Saying he would never support illegality.

While assuring the people that the election would never be rigged, Amosun said "I would support Akinlade with all I have. God has provided everything we need for this election. We have God first and we have the people. Support Akinlade and others that defected with him."

At the meeting, the hordes of crowd declared their supports for Akinlade, adding that they would elect him as the next governor of Ogun State to prove a point that injustice would never stand in Ogun.
